"We lost in the state shampionship this year. It was somewhat disappointing. We had won 38 games in a row and I had been undefeated for my career. The team that ended up beating us was the team that we have beaten two years in a row."
"I played well on both sides of the ball. I played right tackle and defensive tackle. I had about 110 tackles on defense and was both All-Metro and All-State," Faughnan said.
"Recruiting is not going as good as I expected. I am getting a lot of looks from D1-AA schools -- Wagner, Albany, UMass, Maine and Sacred heart are showing me the most interest."
However, one DI-A school may be close to offering Faughnan a scholarship.
"We just talked with the Maryland coach last week. He told me that he liked my athleticism and he though that I would be a good fit at center for them. He said he would be giving me a call next week".
"They have 16 commitments and have five scholarships open. He said they plan to use all five on offensive linemen, so I am hopeful that I am one of them. It is my dream to play at high level like that and it is a goal that I have set for myself. I've worked hard in the classroom and on the field, so I will hopefully get my opportunity."
Faughnan would also love to hear from Syracuse as they are close to home and he feels comfortable playing there.
"I would love to start hearing from Syracuse again. I performed really well at their camp and they seemed really interested. I went up there for a couple of un-official visits and it is only an hour away. I have always played really well in the Carrier Dome, and I felt comfortable there. I think I played seven games there in my career," Faughnan said.
