Baumbach Recruitment Heats Up

Tucker Baumbach a 6-foot-6, 315 pound offensive tackle from Bishop McDevitt High School, in Harrisburg Pa., has seen his recruitment pick up markedly in the past several weeks.

"My season went well. We lost in the state semi-finals by one point. I obviously did not have any stats, but I graded out well on my blocking assignments throughout the year," Baumbach said.

Baumbach, a two-star prospect, had given Maryland a verbal commitment, but continues to consider Syracuse as a possible destination. The Orange have shown substantial interest in him and he took an official visit to the Syracuse camp several weeks ago.

"Syracuse is recruiting me pretty hard. They are really showing a lot of interest in me right now."

"I actually took my official visit there about three weeks ago. It went really well," Baumbach said.

"I had two player hosts while I was there -- my first host, who was also an offensive lineman had somewhere to be and my second host was a linebacker. It was good, though. I had the chance to get to know a few more people on the team and I got to hear more than one opinion of the program."

Baumbach is set to visit Maryland this weekend.

"I am excited to see first hand what Maryland has to offer. I want to have a good time while I am there and meet all the players, but I am very interested to see how the school is academically. I am just excited to see what it is all about."

Baumbach is not ready to go public his thoughts on his recruiting situation at this time.

"I really did not know it was going to be like this. It has really been hard for me. It has been a lot of fun, but it has been difficult," Baumbach reported.

"I am not really going to discuss where I stand right now. It is a personal decision between me and my family, and I am just not going to talk about it at this point in time."

Baumbach does know what will be the most important factor for him when he has to sit down with his family and make his final decision.
