Reggie Fugett Playing a Waiting Game

Reggie Fugett a 6-foot-6, 245 pound tight end from Gilman HS in Baltimore, Md. had a great time on his official visit to Syracuse last weekend (1/20) and he plans to visit Virginia or North Carolina this weekend.

"My visit went really well," Fugett said. "I got the chance to meet all of the coaches and stuff like that. The team had a really good chemistry and I was impressed by what the school had to offer."

"Rice Moss was my host. I played against him when I was a sophomore, so it was neat to have someone that I already knew about as my host. I got along great with him."

Fugett was not only blown away with the coaches and players on the visit, he was also impressed by the facilities.

"They have a bunch of new facilities that are going to be great. The Carrier Dome was amazing. I did not expect it to be as impressive as it was. The whole campus is just loaded with nice facilities for the students and players."

"I was really impressed by the business school at Syracuse. It has had a bunch of new upgrades. If I go to Syracuse, that is probably the program that I will want to check out."

Fugett was worried about how he would adapt to a colder climate, but the cold ultimately made no difference on the overall image of the visit.

"I got lucky and when I got there it was about 50 degrees. It snowed the next night a little, but really it was not all that bad."

Fugett also caught us up on where he stands in the recruiting process.

"I was late in getting publicity because I did not attend any combines or anything. I got mono over the summer and I was really sick. I lost a lot of weight and fell down to around 225 pounds," Fugett explained.

"I am also getting heavy interest from Virginia and North Carolina. Right now I am scheduled to visit North Carolina next weekend, but if Virginia offers or wants to bring me in, then I may go there."

"All of the schools are waiting to see how it plays out with the tight ends that are on their lists in front of me at this point. North Carolina wants to offer, but they are full right now - but if something opens up then they will have a spot for me. Syracuse has some other options ahead of me, but I should hear something from them really soon."
