Focus '07: Paul Stefanik, Penn Trafford LB

Harrison City, Pa. linebacker Paul Stefanik is hoping to build a little momentum on his recruitment in the next few months. The 6-foot-1, 218-pound product of Penn Trafford High School currently holds one written offer and two verbal offers

"I have a written offer from Towson," Stefanik said. "I also have verbal offers from Marshall and Temple that are about to be written."

In addition to his offers, Stefanik is hearing from several other schools. "I am hearing a lot of interest from Pittsburgh, Akron, Cincinnati, Indiana, Syracuse, Rutgers, West Virginia, and Penn State," Stefanik said.

Stefanik does claim to have a few leaders and he points out some characteristics that he is looking for in his future college. "I really like Pittsburgh, and I also like Syracuse and West Virginia," Stefanik said.

"Penn State is also in the mix. I have a good bit of friends at Pittsburgh and my cousin goes to Penn State so there are connections there. Really, what I am looking for is to play on a big stage, in a big stadium, staying close to home, and playing in the Big East or Big Ten."

Stefanik stood out last year for Penn Trafford with 78 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, 10 sacks, and 2 touchdowns. Stefanik also holds an 830 SAT score.

Stefanik does have a timetable for when he would like to make a decision but it all depends on when the offers come in. "I would like to make a decision either before this season or early into the season but we will have to see," Stefanik said.
