Terry Thomas; Making the Camp Rounds

Terry Thomas, a 6-foot, 218-pound linebacker from Lawrenceville Prep in Lawrenceville, New Jersey has been busy attending camps this summer and caught up with Scout.com to talk about some of the schools currently on his short list.

"I've camped at Villanova, Michigan, Purdue, Ohio State, Maryland, Virginia, Rutgers and Syracuse," Thomas said. "I also went to a Pro-Style Combine in Vermont to test out."

"The atmosphere at Michigan was really welcoming and the coaches were somewhat laid back. I got a good vibe from everyone up there. Coach Steve Szabo worked me out one-on-one and was very knowledgeable obviously. He told me I performed really well and that they wanted me to send them a senior tape. I didn't get to see very much of the campus, but I was impressed with what I did see and actually have some family in Michigan."

"I was supposed to make it up to Syracuse for a full day, but with the flooding out here I could only get up for the evening session. Coach Tim Cross had me stay after the session and worked me out one-on-one to go through the linebacker drills they put their players through and they said I was the only camper that was conditioned enough to make it through the whole thing. I've been to Syracuse a few times and have seen the stadium and facilities before, so I could definitely see myself going to school there. The coaches told me they would be giving me a call after vacation to let me know if I have an offer."

"I talk to Coach [Andy Talley] a lot from Villanova and went down to work out for the coaches last month. They said I did really well during drills and liked how physical I play. I actually ran my fastest 40-yard dash time there. Villanova's campus reminds me of a larger version of my school in terms of community, so I like it."

Thomas currently holds offers from San Diego and Towson and was named an All-Area, All-Prep, All-State Prep and All-Conference selection at linebacker last season.
