McLaughlin Favors Two

Brian McLaughin, a 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end from Meadville Area High in Meadville, Pa. attended camp at Akron and Syracuse this summer and is getting interest from other east coast programs as well.

"I think Temple is very close to offering and I'm hearing a lot from Boston College, West Virginia and New Hampshire as well," McLaughlin said.

"My trip to Akron was great. I did really well in the seven-on-seven drills and caught just about every pass that was thrown to me, scoring two touchdowns in the process".

"Coach (Joe) Moorehead took me on a tour of the campus and I thought their indoor facilities were absolutely ridiculous."

"Syracuse is definitely a favorite of mine right now. The conference they're in that the teams that they play on a weekly basis are really attractive", said McLaughlin.

"Coach Greg Robinson and the other coaches held me after to work alongside a quarterback one-on-one everyday after practice and said they were very impressed with my blocking, so I'm optimistic about my situation with them."

"While I was in the weight room, which is the best I've seen so far, I got to meet Dwight Freeney. When I shook his hand he absolutely engulphed mine which was hilarious. He was just a really nice guy."

Iowa is also talking consistently with McLaughlin as Offensive Coordinator Ken O'Keefe formerly coached at Alleghany College which is close to Meadville. O'Keefe will be letting him know where he stands with Iowa after Meadville Area's first two games.
