Miami Still The Team To Beat: The clear-cut favorites to win the east is none other than Miami. But don't tell Syracuse that.

"Anybody can be beat. Hopefully we'll have that chance in the Dome to play for the Big East championship against them," said Jamel Riddle.

"Miami was the better team last year," said Joe Donnelly "I'll be the first to admit it - or everyone else will admit it too. But you know what, they're not 59 points better than us." Bustin' Out:
QB R.J. Anderson: He was just good enough last year to beat out Troy Nunes for the starting job. This year he's going to combine his running-back mentality with an improve air game. The rest of the Orangemen offense will follow should the offensive line provide adequate protection.

Bumps and Bruises:
FS Maurice McClaine (leg) will miss the regular season. He was projected as a starter earlier in the year. . . QB Troy Nunes is still recovering from wrist surgery. . . LB Clifton Smith is ready to go after shoulder surgery in the offseason. . . Billy Wilson hurt his knee and will be out for at least 8 weeks.
