Cuse Still On Top for Nassib?

When last caught up with Malvern, Pa., quarterback Ryan Nassib, he had just come off a visit to Syracuse and was emphatic that SU was his No. 1 choice. Now, a little more than a month later, chatted with the 6-foot-3, 220-pound signal caller to see where his recruitment now stands.

"Syracuse is still my favorite," said Nassib, who also is receiving interest from Penn State, Temple, Michigan State and Wisconsin. "None of them are better than Syracuse, and I'd say that even if I did have a scholarship offer from them."

Nassib's enthusiasm stems from a visit he made to SU in late March, during which he got to tour the facilities and spend quality time with the coaching staff, including an opportunity to sit in on a quarterbacks meeting.

"All of the coaches were very friendly and very straightforward," he said.

Nassib has not determined when he'll make more visits, or his destination, but he plans on making another trip to SU soon and has considered pulling the trigger and verbally committing to the Orange.

"There's always a thought that I should commit to Syracuse soon. They're No. 1 on my list," he said. "But as a high school kid, I want to explore all of my options and not rush into something that could affect my life for the next four years."

As a junior at Malvern Prep, Nassib threw for 1400 yards and 17 touchdowns to only four interceptions and earned first team All-League and third team All-City honors. He brings an aggressive mentality to the position.

"I love the shotgun. That's just me, because I love to throw the ball around," he said. "I also like straight dropbacks, going deep, rollouts, getting outside the [pocket]."

Nassib has not set a definitive timetable on his commitment, but would like have something done my mid-June if possible. It appears as of now the Cuse will be tough to beat.
