If there is one thing everyone can agree on about SU's recruiting tactics, it is that they have been looking to add speed, speed, and speed. Another burner SU is looking at is WR/KR Philip Pierre-Louis.
When asked whether teammate Dorian Graham, a Syracuse commit, is recruiting him for the Orange, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) wide receiver Philip Pierre-Louis can only laugh.
"Yeah, me and Dorian talk about Syracuse every day. Dorian's a cool kid. He's always talking about Syracuse," Pierre-Louis said.
In fact, the SU staff is recruiting four players in total from this year's Florida state championship team, and the foursome has talked about teaming again in college.
"If we would all pull the trigger to Syracuse, it would be nice to all go there together," he said.
Pierre-Louis is a 5-9, 165-pound receiver and kick returner who boasts a blazing 40 time in the 4.3-second range. He scored eight touchdowns on receptions while catching 30 passes for almost 600 yards, four on punt returns averaging 20 yards per return and two on runs this year.
"Pretty much everyone is recruiting me as a receiver and returner," he said.
He has scheduled upcoming visits to Auburn and Iowa State, both of which have offered, and would like to decide within a month or so. He visited SU in the fall and has kept in regular contact with his recruiter, Jim Salgado.
"He's a good guy. I talk to him just about every week. We usually don't talk about football, we just talk about life and stuff like that," Pierre-Louis said.
Pierre-Louis is a solid student and would like to study business. He's looking for a school with an enjoyable atmosphere as well as the chance to play early. Syracuse fits both criteria, he said.
He also offered a scouting report on what SU has in his teammate, Graham: "They got a great leader. He can play linebacker or he can play safety. They got a really good player," he said.
Syracusefan.com will keep you up to date on the recruitment of Pierre-Louis as it gets closer to signing day.
