Hickey Close To Decision Between Top 3

Hickey, the 6'6 280lb OT may make his decision soon and is down to his final 3 of SU, BC and Illinois. He still has all three schools even but he may make his decision sometime this month. Other schools have tried to get involved but he is set on one of those three.

Sean Hickey does not want to be stopped. The offensive tackle's goals are simple: Dominate the man lined up across from him.

His achievement of that goal will be on display Friday, as the Murrysville, Pa. native begins his season. What is not yet on display is Hickey's choice of where he will play his college ball.

Scout's No. 102 ranked tackle has narrowed his choices down to Syracuse, Boston College and Illinois, but has yet to distinguish a clear favorite from those three.

"It's still between those three," Hickey said. "I may make my decision before I take visits, but I'm not sure yet on that."

Hickey's interest in Syracuse stems from Head Coach Doug Marrone's experience in coaching offensive line players as well as Offensive Line coach Greg Adkins' big-time NCAA experience.

"I know this for a fact: Coach Marrone is one of the top three offensive line coaches in the world," Hickey said. "Coach Adkins coached at Tennessee and Georgia where they've produced a lot of lineman and I feel like those guys could really help me."

Still, the coaching staff has not been enough to tip the scales in Syracuse's favor.

"I feel comfortable at each school," Hickey said. "That's why it's taken a while."

With four of the Orange's top-6 tackles graduating in the next two years, Syracuse fans can only hope Hickey decides to take his game to upstate New York.

"With me you're going to get someone who is going to work hard and never be satisfied," Hickey said.
