Dead Heat for Hickey

Two-star offensive lineman Sean Hickey still has Syracuse, Boston College and Illinois on his mind and while he's trying to come up with his final pick, things have been tough for him toward the end of his decision-making process. talked to him on Sunday about where he stands.

Franklin Regional Senior High School offensive tackle Sean Hickey is trying to decide between his final three schools and while the 6-foot-6, 273-pounder doesn't have any favorites, he did tell us a bit about what he likes about each program.

"Right now I'm just trying to think during the dead period because I can really hide and get away from recruiting," Hickey stated. "I'm just trying to hurry up and make this decision as fast as possible, but I really need to make sure I make the right decision between three great choices."

"With Syracuse a lot of it comes down to the coaching staff with people like Head Coach Doug Marrone and my offensive line coach (Greg) Adkins," Hickey explained. "Coach Adkins is a great coach and I know that under him I'd learn a lot to make me a much better player."

"The academics at Syracuse really impressed me as well as their one of the top schools in the Northeast along with Boston College who I'm also looking at," Hickey added. "Syracuse has a great campus, I think it's really cool that players get their own apartments and there is a great opportunity to play early there for me."

"Illinois has a great campus and I just really like the city of Champaign a lot. Coach (Ron) Zook and Coach (Joe) Gilbert are both really good guys and I think the hiring of Coach (Paul) Petrino is impressive and intriguing."

"Boston College is another school that could give me the opportunity to play early and they also offer great academics," Hickey stated. "The campus is nice, but it's a little bit different than what I'm used to. I'm sure I'd get used to it though. "(Sean) Devine is a great coach, they have a young team and I really like Coach (Frank Spaziani). They also had the best season of the three schools I'm looking at."

"It just a very tough decision right now because all three schools are on the rise and I could see myself at any one of them. I feel differently about the schools in different categories that I've made, so I just need to weigh which is most important to me."

Hickey will make his announcement as soon as possible, but won't be rushing anything.
