Chandler at Home at Syracuse

Miami, Fla., four-star defensive lineman Todd Chandler would be a huge get for Syracuse and yet another talented player from Florida on top of that. SyracuseFan.com spoke to him as he got off of his plane on Sunday night and he gave his visit to ‘Cuse high marks.

Miami Northwestern High School defensive tackle Todd Chandler officially visited Syracuse this weekend and it sounds like the Orange put themselves in better standing with the 6-foot, 310-pound lineman with this visit.

"The visit was real nice," Chandler stated. "I'm just getting off of the plane now actually. I liked the players and coaches up there a lot and they have great fan support. I bonded with the coaches a lot and I really got into the history of the program with Jim Brown and Ernie Davis."

"I got up on Friday and we ate dinner and I then I met my host Phillip Thomas who I bonded with really fast because I had played against him down here in Florida," Chandler explained. "He told me that he thought I would get on the field really fast at Syracuse and then introduced me to a bunch of the defensive linemen who told me the exact same thing. The cool thing was that they let me ask them questions about Syracuse and answered everything I threw at them while we talked. I asked them what they thought of the program and they told me that the coaching staff there was just straight up with everyone and that's something I want. I don't need a coach selling me dreams, I need someone that speaks the truth."

"As far as the coaching staff, we've had a tight bond since they started recruiting me last year and I feel real comfortable with them. I've always felt comfortable with the coaches and when I got on campus everyone just made me feel like I was already playing there with them. You could just sense that brotherhood that you want."

We asked Chandler when he may decide and who his finalists were, as well as if any school was in the lead right now.

"Yeah, it's definitely going to come down to Louisville, Syracuse and Florida State and all questions should be answered after I visit Florida State here on the 29th," Chandler offered. "Right now I'd say Louisville is my leader, but after visiting Syracuse they're right there with them, so they definitely have a chance too."

Plan for Chandler's final decision to come quickly after he goes to see the Seminoles in Tallahassee.
