Hester-esque Results for Roberts

Vance Roberts is being recruited by Syracuse to play cornerback, but here at SyracuseFan.com we cannot wait to get his film as he returned 12 punts for touchdowns as a junior, a somewhat freakish number. On Sunday night we talked to Roberts who just scored an offer from the Orange and it sounds like he's just learning about the school.

Dunbar High School product Vance Roberts is a 5-foot-10, 185-pound cornerback with ridiculous return skills that Syracuse has already offered.

"Syracuse wanted me to come to see them about three weeks ago, but I couldn't make it up, so I'll make it up next month," Roberts said. "They offered me to play cornerback for them. They have good fan support there which I like a lot and they just brought in a ton of good players with some solid defensive backs so it was impressive."

"Other than that I don't know much about them other than guys like Donovan McNabb and Jim Brown that went there that really adds to the history of the program."

Syracuse is the only school that has offered Roberts, but they certainly aren't the only school that he has interest in right now.

"I will be visiting Maryland and Wake Forest soon and already visited Rutgers," Roberts explained. "I liked Rutgers a lot. They have great fans and it was an awesome environment. A lot of schools seem really boring, but that school was crazy with the fans."

As a junior, Roberts had 55 tackles, 12 pass breakups and five interceptions. On special teams, Roberts has 12 punt returns for touchdowns.
