Fabiano Talks SU Junior Day

Wakefield, Mass., product Anthony Fabiano went to Syracuse University for junior day last weekend and got to meet his new recruiter as well as talk about which positions he could play if he eventually chose the Orange on National Signing Day. SyracuseFan.com has the update inside.

Anthony Fabiano, a 6-foot-5, 246-pound tight end from Wakefield Memorial High School went up to Syracuse for a visit this past weekend and found out that if he became a part of the program he could become an offensive lineman.

"I went to Syracuse for their junior day this past weekend and it was a great visit," Fabiano said. "The coaches were great and the facilities were outstanding there. I didn't get an offer from them, but I did get a good feeling for the campus, the surrounding and the people I would be dealing with if I went to Syracuse as I spent a lot of time with the coaching staff while I was up there."

"Coach (Dan) Conley and I spent a lot of time together because he was the one that actually started recruiting me for Syracuse, but he has taken on another area, so now Coach (Nathaniel) Hackett who is new to the staff is taking over my area is talking to me along with Coach (Bob) Casullo who is my position coach. They liked my size and thought I may be able to end up at an offensive line position as well, so we'll see how that goes. I've actually put on some weight and gotten up to 246 pounds, but I haven't lost any speed at all, so that's a good thing."

As a junior, Fabiano had nine catches for 96 yards. On defense, he had 47 tackle, six tackles for loss, three sacks, three blocked punts, one blocked field goal, one fumble recovery and 14 hurries. Fabiano carries a 3.92 GPA and takes AP History, and Honors Pre-Calculus, English, Physics and Spanish.
