Scores Offer on Visit

Quinta Funderburk is a three-star receiver from Chesapeake, Va., with some big SEC offers already in hand that visited Syracuse with some of his teammates on Monday and ended up picking up an offer from the Orange.

Quinta Funderburk, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound wide receiver from Oscar F. Smith High School scored an offer from Syracuse on Monday while on an unofficial visit.

"I went up to Syracuse today with my teammates and picked up an offer from them while I was up there," Funderburk said. "I liked it up there and the coaches were just straight up with you. We actually got to sit down and talk with the head coach for a long time and he was just telling us that they focus on winning, but also focus on family and working on players individually and making sure they have a strong future after football which is important."

"Talking to Coach Rob Moore was cool because I know he was a great NFL receiver and he was talking to me about his decision to come to Syracuse," Funderburk added. "I mean, he's kind of like me in a lot of ways because we're similarly built and everything, so I liked listening to what he had to say and took it all in. I was watching their drills while they were practicing and learned some new things while I was up there, so that was cool."

"My favorite part of the trip was going in the Carrier Dome. It was just so big and it was my first time being in a dome before, so it just got me really excited. I saw the picture of it filled with fans and imagined that and it got me pretty pumped up."

Funderburk has some big time offers, so we asked if Syracuse would be in the running.

"They definitely could be. I'm not sure because I haven't trimmed down my list at all yet, so everyone is on the same level. I don't want to say who is in the running or who isn't because I haven't gotten that far yet, but I definitely enjoyed it up there this weekend."
