McAvoy Will Visit

Three-star offensive lineman Kyle McAvoy has nine offers to his name right now and Syracuse is one of them, however the Bloomfield, Ill., product doesn't know much about the Orange. We spoke to him on Friday about getting offered and he said he'll have to take a visit to learn more.

Bloomfield High School offensive tackle Kyle McAvoy now holds a Syracuse offer and the 6-foot-6, 282-pounder plans to visit the school this summer to get a better feel for the Orange.

"I got my Syracuse offer a few days ago and I talked Coach Tyrone Wheatley and the offensive line coach at that time," McAvoy stated. "Coach Wheatley talked about looking at my film and then he passed the phone to my offensive line coach and he said that he really liked what he saw and gave me the offer over the phone. He said that they liked how aggressive I was, liked my flexibility and liked my mobility on the offensive line."

"I don't know a whole lot about Syracuse," McAvoy said. "I know that the football program has a lot of tradition and is very established in that sense, but I don't know too many details about them as a program. They told me to hop on the website to learn more about the school, so I checked that out when I got off the phone. I thought the stadium looked pretty sweet and it seems like almost all of the coaches have a ton of experience which was good to see. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to get to each school that I've been offered by this summer. I don't think I'm going to be able to make it out for camps, but if I can get out for a one or two day visits that would be great. Syracuse is also evaluating my twin brother Luke who is our left tackle and I'm our right tackle, so we'll see how that goes."

McAvoy did say that he and his brother may try to go to the same school, but admitted it would ultimately come down to what fits each of them the best.
