Update With Washington

Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native Daerius Washington is currently holding a hand full of offers and while he doesn't have a definitive offer, he told SyracuseFan.com on Wednesday night where Syracuse stands in the order of things.

Daerius Washington, a 6-foot, 190-pound outside linebacker from Dillard High School spoke about Syracuse on Wednesday night and the opportunities he sees at the school.

"Syracuse is still up there out of my offer right now," Washington stated. "I've been talking to Coach Shafer and Coach Conley and they've just been telling me a little bit about their way of coaching, they techniques they use and Coach Conley was telling me a lot about when he was playing in college. I know both of them were really good football players at the collegiate level and there is a lot I could learn from them."

"They have two linebackers looking to go into the draft this year and if I came up there and played my cards right I could see some time on the field early which I'm looking for," Washington added. "I'm talking to my parents about where and when I may take visits and I'm planning on taking one of my five official visits to Syracuse this fall."

"I just want to get up on campus and see everything first-hand really. I mean, I've seen their facilities online and seen pictures, but it's different in person, so that's what I'm looking to do at this point."

As a junior, Washington had 95 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and eight sacks, three forced fumbles, three safeties, a punt block and a field goal block on the season.
