"Tech offered on Wednesday night and Baylor yesterday and TCU today," Smythe said. Earlier this week Smythe told HornedFrogBlitz.com that the Frogs were among his favorites. Getting the offer added to his overall experience on the weekend.
"It felt really good to get an offer, it was a good experience," Smythe said. "I've been to Ft. Worth before but I've never looked around campus before. It was really nice, I really didn't know what to expect coming in but the facilities are extremely nice and the university as a whole is too."
Smythe received his offer when he and his family sat down with head coach Gary Patterson. Smythe said it was made clear by Patterson that the Frogs wanted his services, but at the same time he never felt pressured by the coach to make a decision.
"He wasn't putting any pressure on at all, he called me in and told me we can get this out of the way and he said we know you want to look around a little bit but we'd like to have you here," Smythe said of his talk with Patterson. "There was no pressure and he really handled it well."
Smythe says his visit to TCU supplanted them among his favorite schools but he still wants to make other visits before making a secure list of favorites.
"It definitely increased after today, everything was very impressive, they're definitely at the top of my list right now with several other schools," Smythe said. "As of right now I think I'm going to go take my other visits and evaluate all the other schools I'm interested in. TCU definitely solidified they're spot at the top after today. I'm ranking them in my mind as I visit the schools. I'll be able to have a ranking after I visit all the schools I'm interested in."
