Gonzalez was a threat running and catching the football for the Longhorns in 2011. On the ground he rushed for 919 yards and 11 TD's while hauling in 22 catches for 346 yards and 5 more scores.
Gonzalez has multiple junior day invites and has plans to make a couple in the following weeks.
"Some of my teammates were talking about going to the Kansas State junior day and I'm going to try to go to the Texas Tech one," Gonzalez said. "I think that one is on the 25th."
TCU held their first junior day this past Saturday and Gonzalez was on the short list of invited players. However, he also had the ACT scheduled for that day and after a draining day taken the test, Gonzalez wasn't able to attend.
"I was going to go but I was just too tired from taking the ACT all day," Gonzalez said. "My coach was going to take me, but I was just too tired.
"I do want to go check it out because I've never been there before. I just want the experience to go over there and actually see what they have over there."
With a plethora of offers to choose from, Gonzalez is in no hurry to make a decision and says all schools are equal at this point in time.
"Everyone is sitting equally, the recruiting process is wide open," Gonzalez said. "I'm just going to go to as many junior days that I can and go see different things."
Able to beat teams either running the ball or catching it, it shouldn't come as a surprise to see the type of offense Gonzalez wants to play in at the next level.
"Really a spread offense, when I go to college I'll probably be playing receiver," Gonzalez said of his preference of offense. "I'd like to go to someone that throws the ball a lot."
Location will play a role in his decision, noting that he doesn't want to travel too far from home.
"I'm not trying to go too far from home, I'd get homesick probably," Gonzalez said.
Speaking of not being too far from home, TCU fits the bill. What does he know about TCU's program?
"I don't know too much about TCU really, I have an ex-teammate that went there, Elisha Olabode. I don't know too much, I just watch them on T.V. sometimes."
