Q & A with Corey Smith

New Orleans Walker defensive end Corey Walker has seen his recruitment pick up steam in recent weeks. The 6-foot-6, 235-pounder is hearing from several programs including TCU. What does he have to say about TCU?

Corey Smith, a 6-foot-6, 235-pound defensive end from Walker High School in New Orleans, has shown a strong interest in TCU. HornedFrogBlitz.com caught up with the rising prospect to get the latest in his recruitment and how much TCU is in the picture.

What has the recruiting process been like to this point?
"It's been okay so far. It's been good."

Who has been showing the most interest?
"Tulane has been sending me letters, and Texas A&M has really been sending me letters, too. And I got one from... Michigan had sent me a letter."

What schools do you currently have an interest in?
"As of right now I'm really drawn to Tulane, TCU, LSU and basically, really all SEC schools. College period."

Has he taken a visit to TCU?
"No I've never visited the campus. If they invite me to take a visit I would really come."

What does he like about TCU?
"It's a school that I've liked since I was younger. I have a very strong interest in them. The academics is good and the sports program is good, also."

Does he have any visits planned at this point?
"As of right now I don't really have plans. Michigan has invited him to their camp in June."

Have any schools have so far?
"Tulane said they were going to offer."

What is he looking for in a college? What does he want to study?
"The biggest thing I'm looking for right now is to get my degree. I'm not really sure, but I have a strong interest in communication."

What is he looking forward to over the last year and a half in high school?
"I'm really looking forward to having fun my senior year and trying to make all the plays to get into college."
