However, he finally arrived to TCU shortly after twelve and enjoyed his trip. Most importantly, he received what he coveted the most; an offer from the Frogs.
Earlier this week when HornedFrogBlitz.com visited with Henderson, the 6-foot-4, 245-pounder said if the Frogs offer, it would be tough to turn down.
It seems to be just a matter of time before Henderson makes it official.
"I went to his office and we talked for about five minutes and he said that he wanted to offer me," Henderson said of his visit with Patterson. "Me and my dad were very happy because I'm most likely going to commit there; I promise I am. That's where I want to go, it's perfect for me. My dad said it's close to home and he'd like me to go there.
"I like their graduation rate and degrees. I really makes me want to go there. They're second in the country in graduation rate so that's very good for us. TCU has 71% of graduation so I was very impressed."
For Henderson, it's not a matter of "if" he will commit to TCU, it's "when". Does he know when he will make a commitment to TCU official?
"Pretty soon, because I don't know what my offer to go away," Henderson said. "My dad wants me to do it now, I plan on verbal committing. I don't need another trip, I know what I want. That's where I'm going, I know for sure. I told the coaches that's where I want to go but I didn't commit yet but I'm pretty sure that's where I'm going."
In 2011 Henderson registered 75 tackles and 9.5 sacks as an interior defensive lineman for the Jaguars. TCU is recruiting him as a tackle or end, whichever fits him best.
"They said I could play a three technique or a defensive end," Henderson said. "It doesn't matter to me, just put me on the field and I'm going to do what I've got to do."
It shouldn't come as a surprise to those close to Henderson on where he'll likely end up playing his college ball.
"I've been telling everyone that I want to go there," Henderson said of TCU.
