Allen continues to impress

Temple, Texas quarterback Zach Allen has impressed at the Elite 11 and NLA Showcase.

If his last two camp performances are any indication, Temple quarterback Zach Allen is about to see his recruitment take off in the spring when more college programs get a chance to further evaluate him.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder currently holds offers from Syracuse, Eastern Illinois and Texas State. He added another offer last week.

"UTSA offered, I'm excited about it," Allen said.

Allen performed well at the Elite 11 at Cowboys Stadium a few weeks ago and this past Sunday he impressed once again at the NLA Showcase in Lancaster; bringing home quarterback MVP honors.

"I just wanted to come out here and compete and have fun," Allen said. "There were a lot of great guys, receivers, DB's and a lot of great coaches giving me a lot of things to work on. It was a lot of fun coming out here and just competing."

Allen says his performance from the Elite 11 gave him the confidence to continue playing well.

"Anytime you compete it's going to give you confidence if you do well and I felt like I threw the ball well at the Elite 11," Allen said. "I wanted to come out here and show that I could compete with these guys to."

Allen says he will take the knowledge he learned from the Elite 11 and NLA Showcase and use it to help his team make a deep run in the playoffs.

"Just knowing that we can compete with the best guys out here that our team can excel from everywhere and were going to give it our best shot to win a state championship," Allen said.

Allen says he is still deciding what camps he plans to attend over the summer. Last summer, he was one of the most impressive quarterbacks at a TCU one day camp.
