Five Star DT Racking Up Offers

Justin Manning, one of the highest ranked defensive players in Texas, now holds 19 offers. HornedFrogBlitz caught up with Manning to talk about TCU, his summer plans, and his latest offers from the recruiting trail.

No Justin Manning may not be the next 360 pound Vince Wilfork, but as far as athletic defensive tackles go, Manning is the cream of the crop.

"I have 19 offers now," Justin Manning of Dallas' Kimball High School said. "The most recent one I think was LSU."

Manning's explosiveness makes him one of the most coveted high school prospects in the state of Texas, and TCU and head coach Gary Patterson have been in on Manning for a while.

"I haven't talked to TCU in a couple of weeks, but I like TCU. I've talked to Coach Patterson before," Manning said.

Spring practice will start on April 30 for Kimball high school, and for now, Manning does not have anymore visits scheduled before school ends.

As for this summer... "I'm probably not going to go to any camps," Manning said. "If I do, it will just be to meet and talk with the coaches."

Last season, Manning tallied 18 tackles for loss despite missing four of his team's games over the course of the season.

Manning said coaches have been coming to see him on a regular basis.

"Some coaches were here yesterday. It went good, so for now I am just waiting for more [offers]," Manning noted. "I don't really have a list or anything just yet. I'm still gonna wait before I do that."

TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech have all offered Manning who is receiving a lot of interest from out of state schools as well. USC, Michigan, UCLA, and Miami have all offered the 6'3 defensive tackle as well.

Fox's Greg Powers wrote of Manning, "He will flat out get after the quarterback and has the agility and foot speed that allows him to close on ball carriers. Hard to contain."
