The TCU Horned Frogs added a commitment on Wednesday morning from Trinity Valley Community College linebacker Paul Dawson, sources confirmed to HornedFrogBlitz.com.

Dawson, originally a receiver out of Dallas Skyline in the 2011 class, played linebacker for the Cardinals as a freshman. The 6-foot-1, 220-pounder recorded 47 tackles, 2 sacks and led the team with 7 tackles for loss. He also had two fumble recoveries.

Dawson is already eligible to join the Frogs roster as part of the 2012 class and he could arrive as early as next month when the newcomers arrive on campus for summer classes. His arrival will add immediate depth to the Frogs' linebacker corps, who lost Tank Carder to the NFL and Kris Gardner to graduation. They also lost Tanner Brock in the off-season and signed only A.J. Hilliard as part of the 2012 class.

Dawson will also have four years to play three once he gets to TCU.
