One player who shined on both sides of the ball was cornerback Steve Wesley. The 6-foot, 175-pounder scored on both sides of the ball in the three games, hauling in touchdown catches and returning an interception for a score.
Recruiting wise, Wesley is now up to seven offers after receiving his latest offer from Kansas last week. TCU, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Navy, Houston and Illinois are others in pursuit of the talented cornerback. Another Big 12 school may be the next in line.
"U of H (Houston) and Kansas are the two most recent ones," he said. "Kansas offered last week. Oklahoma State has been talking to me a lot too. They said they're very interested in me but want to see how I do so I'll probably go to their camp this summer."
Wesley says he plans to hit just three camps this summer and already has two of them on his schedule.
"I'm trying to go to TCU, Kansas and maybe one more school that is looking at me," Wesley said. "I plan to go to at least three."
TCU has long maintained a stay on the list of favorites for Wesley, who are the others?
"Right now it's TCU, Kansas and U of H," he said. "TCU says I could come in and play boundary corner, Kansas said they have four seniors on the field this year and they're looking to get me on the field early. It's about even (with those three)."
Wesley had originally planned to make a decision during the spring, but for now he's putting a decision on hold so he can further evaluate whatever options come his way this summer.
"Beginning of next season," he said. "I'm going to see what I get this summer and make my decision then."
