Shaw hoping to attend TCU camp

Mineola, Texas linebacker Dac Shaw is holding steady with two offers in the fold.

Mineola, Texas linebacker Dac Shaw became a hot name in recruiting circles once spring evaluations began. During that time, the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder quickly added offers from Baylor and Texas Tech and others such as TCU, Texas, Texas A&M were among the others that stopped by the tiny east Texas town to check out the rising prospect.

Since that time, recruiting has slowed a bit and he's still holding steady with the offers from the Bears and Red Raiders. However, a few more teams have started to show interest.

"Boise State and Texas State have been really interested," he said. "They haven't offered, they've just been showing interest. They want me to go to the camp."

Shaw hasn't been able to attend any mini-camps this summer but hopes to get to one soon starting with A&M.

"A&M asked me to come down to a camp in Dallas," he said. "I think I'm going to try to make it to that one."

Another camp Shaw hopes to attend is at TCU. He originally planned to attend the Frogs' satellite camp last week in Kilgore but was unable to make the trip. Shaw says the Frogs continue to show strong interest and want him to attend the next available camp.

"I got a Facebook message about one this week, I know they want me to come down and I want to get to one," Shaw said of attending a TCU camp.

When we last spoke with Shaw, the talented linebacker listed TCU and Baylor as his favorites. However, since he hasn't had much contact with Baylor recently, Texas Tech has moved past the Bears into the #2 spot. One constant remains, TCU still sits firmly atop his list of favorites.

"Pretty much, maybe Texas Tech now since I haven't talked to Baylor," he said. "I know TCU is my #1 school right now."
