Robinson shines at TCU camp

Bellaire Episcopal quarterback Austin Robinson was among the top QB's at TCU's recent mini-camp.

Houston Bellaire Episcopal quarterback Austin Robinson currently holds an offer from UTSA, but the 6-foot-3, 220-pounder is putting in hard work for more.

Robinson had his skills on display Friday afternoon at TCU and was regarded as one of the top quarterbacks in attendance. In fact, he was held after camp to throw to a select number of receivers the Frogs are evaluating. In all, Robinson felt like he showed his skills to the coaches today.

"There was a lot of great athleticism out here and a lot of great athletes," he said. "It was fun and really enjoyable. I think I did fairly well, this last week really prepared me and I think I really show out today." Did the coaches tell him where he stands on receiving an offer?

"They've talked about me being in the top four and they really like me," he said. "Hopefully I'll get an offer soon so we'll see. They wanted to make a choice they said two weeks from last Friday so we'll see what happens. They said if they don't decide in two weeks it would be sometime in the fall."

Robinson says an offer from the Horned Frogs would definitely put them among his top schools.

"Top five for sure, they'd be up there," Robinson said.

As far as a decision is concerned, Robinson isn't rushing into one. He wants to focus more on his high school teams and if he plays well enough to merit more offers, he make a decision then.

"I'm going to wait until the middle of my senior year before I make a selection but I'm just waiting it out and focus on my high school career and then make a selection," Robinson.
