One school that Phillips could hear more from as early as Monday is TCU. Phillips put on a show at last week's mini-camp and was told by the coaches that he's one of the top linebackers they've seen this off-season.
"There were a lot of good athletes and the coaching staff was great, it was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed myself today," Phillips said. "They liked the way I could run and cover in the open field; they liked everything about me game. They said I was probably the best linebacker that they've seen at all of their camps."
With a staggering number of options to choose from, Phillips jokingly says an offer from TCU would only make his decision that much harder. He admits that if the Frogs do indeed offer, they would sit near the top of his list.
"TCU would just make things worse, it would make everything more confusing," Phillips said laughing. "I really like TCU and the coaching staff; they would be really high on my list (if they offer)."
Phillips says he has a high interest in TCU for the simple fact that it reminds him so much of All Saints.
"It's just another level of All Saints, just a lot more people," Phillips said.
For those expecting a quick decision from Phillips, you may have to wait awhile. He talented linebacker wants to evaluate all of his options so he can make a choice he doesn't have to go back on.
"Yes, I'm still letting everything happen and settle. I don't want to run into things too fast and regret what I do. I just want to make sure I make the right choice," he finished.
