Since then, he's seen an onslaught of schools come his way.
Billings has over 20 offers in the fold now and most recently added yet another in-state offer; Texas. Although he didn't need to, Billings made his way north to Ft. Worth last Friday to participate in TCU's one day mini-camp.
Billings showed why he's regarded as one of the top defensive tackles in the country, running a 5.1 forty and displaying the type of quickness it takes to get to the quarterback.
"The camp was pretty good, we did a lot of things that I didn't even know existed," Billings said. "The coaches instructed us good and I learned a lot of stuff. It was good competition and everyone in here could do something."
Billings says he will take home a few things he learned from the coaches to improve his game in Waco.
"I liked the ball drill where they showed us how to move our feet to get to the quarterback faster and they also showed us how to open our hips better to get to screen passes," Billings said.
Billings still has hopes to have a decision made by late summer and talked about receiving his latest offer from Texas.
"It felt pretty good," he said of receiving the Texas offer. "I didn't watch them much growing up because I was more into the NFL, but they're high on my list."
How much interest does he have in TCU?
"I have a very good interest in TCU," Billings finished.
