Jefferson hopes to hear from TCU

Denton Guyer receiver Ellis Jefferson was one of the most impressive receivers at the Mike Adams Camp of Conquerors 7-on-7 tournament.

Nearly two weeks ago Denton Guyer receiver Ellis Jefferson was regarded as perhaps the top receiver at TCU's one day satellite camp in Plano. Jefferson did well enough to receive extra attention from the coaches and told him he should be hearing from them about an offer status in the near future.

On Sunday, Jefferson was again impressive at the Mike Adams Camp of Conquerors 7-on-7 tournament in Cedar Hill and helped his team advance just one game away from the championship game.

On the recruiting front, Jefferson is still holding steady at five offers. As for where he stands with the Frogs, he's still waiting.

"I haven't heard anything from them lately but I know I did real good at the camp," Jefferson said. "I need to get my forty time faster because I know TCU is a fast team."

Jefferson says he has a high interest in TCU and hopes that an offer from the Horned Frogs eventually comes his way.

"I have a big interest in them," Jefferson said of TCU. "They're close to home and play good football. I've been watching them a lot."

Another factor in TCU's favor comes from Jefferson's teammate, Patrick Morris, who was the second commitment for the Frogs' 2013 class. Jefferson admits that when the intimidating Morris talks, he listens.

"Yes, he has, he's trying to get me to like it a lot," he said. "He's definitely trying to get me to go there. I've been up to campus once last year for a Nike camp."

While interest continues to grow for Jefferson, he has no timeline for when he'd like to have a decision. He knows eventually he'll have a larger pool of offers to choose from.

"I don't know when I'm going to make a decision, I'm just waiting on all of my offers to slow down and everything," he said.

Jefferson hauled in 38 catches for 676 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2011.
