TCU 2012 Top Impact Players
With the start of the 2012 season just days away when the Frogs report to camp on August 6th, HFB.com takes a look at the top 11 impact players that are vital to the Frogs success in their inaugural season in the Big 12.
At #8 on the list is senior runningback Matthew Tucker. With the departure of Ed Wesley, Tucker and fellow runningback Waymon James will carry much of the running game load in 2012.
#8 Matthew Tucker

What makes Tucker an impact player?
It seems like yesterday we were watching Tucker as a true freshman race down the sideline on a 41-yard touchdown against Utah in one of the biggest games in school history. Now he's a senior leader who has played in 39 games in his career while rushing for a total of 2,087 yards and 27 scores. 2011 was Tucker's best season as he rushed for 702 yards and 12 touchdowns. His yardage total ranked him third on the team and his touchdowns ranked first. With Wesley now in the Dallas Cowboys camp, Tucker will have even more opportunities to carry the load this year. While James is the speedier back, there's no denying that Tucker is the bruiser and will be the go-to guy in goal line situations. Tucker has averaged 5.6 yards per carry in his career and with the Frogs facing Big 12 defenses, they'll need him to continue that high rushing mark.
