With the start of the 2012 season just days away when the Frogs report to camp on August 6th, HFB.com takes a look at the top 11 impact players that are vital to the Frogs success in their inaugural season in the Big 12.

At #7 on the list is sophomore safety, Jonathan Anderson. As a RS freshman last year, Anderson was one of the top reserve players on the team. Showing a nose for the ball, the hard hitting safety will have to elevate his game even more this year as a starter.

What makes Anderson an impact player?
In a Gary Patterson defense, you better have safeties that can play. At 6'3" and 212 pounds, Jonathan Anderson brings a reputation with him. He loves to hit and he's good at it. Coming off of a season where he contributed in a big was as a reserve; Anderson will be called on in 2012 to be one of the defensive leaders. Gone is the senior laden defensive backfield from a year ago but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Anderson leads an athletic group of young safeties that have high expectations. He'll be counted on to lead by example and with his skill set; he could help lay the groundwork for a strong season from the TCU secondary. In TCU's 2011 showdown with BYU at Cowboy Stadium, Anderson gave Frog fans a glimpse of his potential. He was all over the field that day and the Cougars were happy to see #41 walk the other direction when the game had ended. If TCU wants to reach their lofty goals in 2012, Jonathan Anderson will have to be a major force on the defensive side of the ball.
