Twine Hopes To Visit TCU

Hemphill, Texas 2014 athlete Justin Twine is getting interest from several programs including TCU.

Hemphill, Texas 2014 athlete Justin Twine burst onto the scene his sophomore year thanks to a year when he rushed for 2,478 yards and 34 touchdowns. That included a record-setting performance against West Sabine where he rushed for 534 yards.

Unfortunately, the Hornets are off to a 0-3 start in 2012 and for Twine, he admittedly is not putting up the same eye popping numbers he was a year ago. To make matters worse, Twine pulled a groin muscle and could miss the next two weeks of action.

"It's kind of off to a rough start, we're 0-3," he said. "The offense is there, we're putting points on the board. Last week we lost 28-26 so I think we're taking a step forward a little bit."

Twine, who reports an offer from Baylor, says he has received tons of correspondence since September 1st. He recently attended a Baylor game.

"I've gotten tons of letters from difference schools and stuff but I don't have any new offers," he said. "I went to the Baylor-Sam Houston game this past weekend. It was nice, I really enjoyed it. It was a pretty good game for a little while."

Twine mentioned in a previous update that TCU was among his favorite schools. He still has the same interest in the Horned Frogs and the interest seems mutual. Twine hopes to attend a game in the near future.

"I'm actually going to a game, I don't know which one I'm going to but I'm going to pick a game here pretty soon," Twine said of TCU. "They sent me an email saying they're still strongly interested and they want me to come down soon; I'm just trying to pick a weekend to go down there."

Twine says he still favors TCU, Baylor and Texas A&M at the moment.
