"I've received letters from Mississippi State, Texas Tech, TCU, Texas A&M and I went on an official visit to UTSA this past weekend" said Rogers. "It went pretty good, they're looking at me at safety because they have a commit at quarterback but they told me if that doesn't go through, I'll probably have a chance there for quarterback."
The Brownsboro, TX native is versatile and is definitely skilled enough to play either side of the ball at the next level. On the season, Rogers has thrown for over 1,400 yards and 15 TD passes to go along with over 500 yards and 6 TD's on the ground. On the defensive side of the ball, the talented Rogers has pulled down 4 INT's. Rogers says he just wants a shot to play, no matter the position.
"I'm open to either position" said Rogers. "Either safety or quarterback, most schools like me as a safety."
While Rogers is getting early interest, he says there are a few programs he would like to hear more from.
"Mostly TCU, Texas A&M, Texas State, schools like that" said Rogers. "I haven't planned on visiting any schools right now for a game but I will probably look into that."
After giving his UTSA visit high marks, Rogers says he would like to see a few other programs so that he can compare notes.
"I would like to see A&M, and I really like TCU a lot" he said. "I don't know, maybe some other schools too."
Although he doesn't currently hold an offer, Rogers ranks his top four as follows.
"TCU, A&M, I like Texas State and UTSA."
