Louisiana DB Still Drawing Interest

The Southern Lab defensive back visited Memphis last week for their victory over Tulane. However, TCU remains in good shape should they extend an offer.

Southern Lab's Jarrod Franklin is a hot commodity these days. The 6'1" 195 safety holds a handful of offers and recently took in a collegiate game from the sidelines. So was it TCU's defensive struggle against the then #2 Kansas State Wildcats?

"No, I actually didn't get to go" said Franklin. "I told one of my coaches that I was going to the TCU game and he told me since they hadn't offered me yet, that I should go see one of the schools that had offered me so I went to the Memphis game."

Currently holding offers from North Texas, Memphis, Louisiana and others, Franklin spoke about his experience when Memphis won their 2nd game of the season with a 37-23 victory over Tulane.

"I have some family in Memphis so I got to see them right outside the stadium so it was great."

While TCU has yet to offer, Franklin maintains that he's keeping in close contact with his recruiter, Trey Haverty, and says TCU is still at the top for him and a Horned Frog offer would likely end the process for him.

"I talk to coach Trey Haverty every now and then, maybe once a week" said Franklin. "I just touch base with him and talk about grades and I just sent him my senior highlight tape and he's looking at it right now actually."

With the Frogs battling through their first ever Big 12 schedule, Franklin says they've maintained their standing in his eyes.

"They'll definitely always be at the top of my list even though they haven't offered me" said Franklin. "If they offered me, I would probably accept it right on the spot but as of right now, I'm still looking."
