"I can't believe I just decommitted from the University of Texas," he said. "Relieved [though]. Devonte's (Fields) is doing big things as a freshman there. He said I could too. He's like my brother. I'm excited to play with him again."
Hicks was originally offered back in February but decided to commit to the Longhorns. Ranked as the No. 18 runningback prospect in the country, Hicks fills a big need for the Frogs who were looking for a speed back to compliment the big back they already have committed in Alief Taylor's Trevorris Johnson.
Hicks was also in attendance as the Frogs took on Oklahoma on Saturday.
With his commitment, the Frogs now stand at fifteen commitments overall.
Hicks rushed for 1,114 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2012. He also split time at quarterback, throwing for 467 yards and 6 more scores.
