Shannon and Haverty Resign

TCU assistant coaches Randy Shannon and Trey Haverty gave their resignations to TCU on Sunday.

Just a day after TCU lost in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl to Michigan State, the Frogs lost two assistant coaches. Sources confirmed that linebacker coach Randy Shannon and receivers coach Trey Haverty gave their resignations on Sunday.

It is reported that Shannon, who spent one season at TCU, will accept a similar position at Arkansas. The Razorbacks hired former Wisconsin head coach Brett Bielema earlier this month.

Sources say Haverty, who coached safeties and receivers for the Frogs each of the past two seasons, will return to his alma mater Texas Tech to coach safeties and special teams. He spent five seasons as a coach at TCU, starting his coaching career as a graduate assistant from 2007-2009. He spent one season as a defensive coordinator at Millsaps College. Haverty was a former All-American receiver at Texas Tech.

Sources haven't disclosed who the replacements for both coaches will be.
