Randall Gives His Visit to TCU a 9

The TCU Horned Frogs made a big time impression on the California JUCO star. Now a visit to Arizona State could be the final obstacle for TCU to overcome in Randall's recruitment.

The TCU Horned Frogs would love to add another physical defensive back to the fold for the 2013 recruiting class. At 6'0" and 185 pounds, Damarious Randall can play either corner or safety and that ability makes him very attractive to programs across the country.

Randall was in Ft. Worth this past weekend and HornedFrogBlitz.com caught up with him tonight to get his thoughts on the visit. Hosted by TCU running back, Waymon James, Randall gave his visit to Ft. Worth high marks.

"The visit was great; I mean the coaching staff was great, the players that I hung out with were great" said Randall. "I really enjoyed the visit."

With signing day fast approaching, Randall knows that he has a big decision ahead of him. He doesn't plan on rushing though because he wants to make the right choice. One positive that Randall pointed to was his connection with Waymon James. He said James and the other players made him feel like he was already part of the family.

"We hit it off really well" said Randall. "It was just like the old days when I was in high school, everyone just loves to compete at everything and it felt like a family there."

Holding 14 offers, including offers from TCU, Arizona State, Arkansas, Louisville and most recently Oklahoma, Randall has plenty of options to choose from. The talented defender knows he's a hot commodity but wants to see one more program before he makes his decision.

"The facilities are great at TCU" he said. "They were telling me that they're only like a year old or something like that. The suites were really nice in the stadium and they were putting new sod down inside there too; everything was really nice."

With TCU in need of defensive backs, where have the Frogs told Randall they see him playing if he were to choose the Horned Frogs?

"I talked to Coach P. and he told me to be ready to play four different positions if I come to TCU" said Randall. "He also told me that I would be the punt returner and kickoff returner and I liked the sound of that."

With a visit to Arizona State this weekend for Randall, the athletic defensive back is looking to see how the Sun Devils stack up to TCU.

"I'm visiting Arizona State this Friday and then I want to say South Florida the Friday after that" he said. "I haven't set up my last visit yet so we'll see about that one."

As far as favorites go, Randall says three schools are standing out, but if you push him further, it's really a two team race at this point.

"TCU, Arizona State and Louisville are my top three" he said. "Basically you can just say I have a top two right now of TCU and Arizona State."

Randall hopes to have his decision made soon but he stated that he's in no hurry, he wants to get it right.

"I want to make my decision by signing day but if I have to wait a couple days after signing day to make sure I make the right choice, that's what I'll do" he said. "I gave my visit to TCU a 9 so we'll see how Arizona State goes this weekend."

All eyes will be on Randall this weekend to see how his visit goes. He says he'll call HornedFrogBlitz.com to give us his final decision when he's ready to make the call. Stay logged on.
