Big Weekend Ahead

The Horned Frogs are hosting a handful of uncommitted prospects this weekend.

The Horned Frogs will host a handful of uncommitted prospects this weekend as they make their way to Ft. Worth for official visits. With 18 commitments in the fold for the 2013 class and a limited number of spots left, these weekends can bring exciting news.

In all the Frogs will host five players this weekend which includes two of the nation's top players at their respective position in Andrew Billings and Darian Claiborne. Teammates Joshua Outlaw and DeMarquis Polite-Bray will make the trip from Georgian and Clarksville do-everything athlete Gary Moore will also be in town.

The coaches also scheduled several of the current commitments for official visits as Kyle Hicks, Trevorris Johnson and Steve Wesley will also be visiting. The timing couldn't be better for the coaches and Johnson, who is toying with the idea of visiting Oregon.

It's been speculated that the staff will take 22-23 commitments and even rumors of 25, these last few weeks will be interesting. Although we don't know the exact number of spots they will take, what we do know is it will be an exciting few weeks all the way up to signing day.

Let's take a look at the uncommitted players and give our thoughts on the chance of a weekend commitment.

Andrew Billings - DT - Waco
Current ranking: | No. 9 DT; No. 97 overall
Offers: TCU, Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Texas A&M

Status: Billings has been down to a final three of TCU, Texas and Baylor for quite some time. He's already made an official visit to Texas and will visit Baylor next weekend. Billings has been one of the most sought after prospects for the Frogs, who were the second program to extend an offer to the defensive tackle. Billings hasn't tipped his hand much throughout the process on where he's leaning, but he has made several unofficial visits to TCU since last February. Billings isn't likely to make a decision this weekend, but the Frogs could certainly give him a lot to think about.

Weekend commitment outlook: Not likely

Darian Claiborne - LB - Port Allen (LA)
Current ranking: | No. 14 MLB
Offers: Currently committed to Texas A&M

Status: Claiborne surprised many this week when he made it known that he would be making an official visit to TCU. Claiborne told HFB.com earlier this week that the Frogs remained high on his list despite his commitment to A&M. One factor that could weigh heavily is playing time, which Claiborne wants. The Frogs only have two scholarship players at linebacker and three linebacker commits. Meanwhile, A&M has six linebacker commits for their 2013 class and already have two for 2014. It doesn't help matters that his would-be position coach at A&M left for Texas Tech. Claiborne has a great relationship with Chad Glasgow and it wouldn't be a shock if Claiborne heavily considers making the switch, just maybe not this weekend.

Weekend commitment outlook: Slight chance

Josh Outlaw - OL - Lithonia (GA) Martin Luther King
Current ranking: | No. 26 Offensive guard
Offers: TCU, Florida, Louisville, Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Washington

Status: The one time Florida commit reopened his recruitment a few months ago and since that time the Frogs have showed interest. Outlaw has an excellent relationship with his recruiter from TCU, Rusty Burns. Burns was vital in the recruitment of current runningback Jordan Moore, who was a high school teammate of Outlaw's. While Moore will be pushing for Outlaw, another plus for TCU is the fact that they need linemen badly and he's one guy that realizes this. It will be interesting to see what Outlaw does this weekend and it wouldn't come as a shock if he decided to commit.

Weekend commitment outlook: High

Gary Moore - WR/DE - Clarksville
Current ranking: | No. 30 TE
Offers: TCU, Texas Tech, Tulsa, Missouri

Status: Even with the loss of his recruiter Trey Haverty to Texas Tech, the Frogs are still in very good shape for Moore's services. Jarrett Anderson took over the recruitment for Moore and it appears that TCU is still the team to beat. Anderson made an in-home visit with Moore's family last week. The Frogs are recruiting him as a receiver or defensive end and the word is Moore is receptive to the idea. One benefit for the Frogs is the fact that Moore has a brother that lives in the Ft. Worth area.

Weekend commitment outlook: Very High

DeMarquis Polite-Bray - WR - Lithonia (GA) Martin Luther King
Current ranking: | No. 205 WR
Offers: TCU, Louisville, Wake Forest, Ole Miss, Utah, Tennessee

Status: Polite-Bray has flown somewhat under the radar but that doesn't mean he's not a player. At 6-foot-1, Polite-Bray would add another receiver to the already talented duo of Ty Slanina and Cameron Echols-Luper. Like Outlaw, Polite-Bray has been given plenty of knowledge of TCU by his former teammate Jordan Moore. Don't discount Zach Jackson selling the program as well. While he's somewhat of an unknown for TCU fans, he's another player that it wouldn't come as a surprise if he committed while on his trip.

Weekend commitment outlook: High
