One of those high profile prospects was Pflugerville Hendrickson runningback Samaje Perine. Currently rated as the nation's No. 34 runningback prospect by FOX Sports NEXT, Perine is one of the most sought after backs in the country. Just last week the 6-foot, 218-pounder added an offer from national champion Alabama.
Perine currently holds offers from Tennessee, Houston, Oklahoma, Purdue and Alabama. On Saturday he received an offer while on his visit to TCU. His visit to Ft. Worth was the first time he's been on TCU's campus and was impressed with the facilities and Frogs' practice.
"It was nice," Perine said via text. "It seemed like the guys were happy to be back out there. It was all great, but if I had to choose one thing, I'd say touring the stadium (was the favorite)."
Perine also had a chance to talk with TCU head coach Gary Patterson while on the visit. The coach explained that he was high on their list.
"He was just saying how they graduated one so they are recruiting one," he said of his talk with Patterson.
With several teams showing interest, Perine isn't sure exactly when he'll make a decision, but he does have a couple of schools standing out.
"TCU and OU are tied at number one," he said. "I have to talk it (a decision) over with my parents first, so, about a month or so."
For now, Perine doesn't have any other visits set up.
