2015 Lineman Drawing Heavy Interest

The TCU Horned Frogs are on the heels of a slew of top 2014 targets but a 2015 player is emerging in their own back yard.

It's still early in the 2014 recruiting cycle but a 2015 lineman from Lewisville Hebron is already making it difficult for teams to wait on recruiting him. You see, if you wait to offer Zach Rogers, you might just miss out. The 6'3" 295 pound interior lineman is racking up offers and heavy interest from programs throughout the country. HornedFrogBlitz.com caught up with the rising star to get the latest on his recruitment.

"It's been going pretty good, I'm just trying to keep up with everything and make sure I keep up with it all and have fun with it."

With so much early attention coming his way, Rogers is trying to take in all in stride and stay grounded. He knows there's a long way until signing day 2015 and he's not rushing into anything.

Already holding three offers, Rogers discussed who he was in contact with the most.

"Arkansas, Texas Tech and UCLA, which I have offers from" said Rogers. "Those three and Oklahoma are who I'm hearing from the most."

Although TCU wasn't mentioned as a school he's hearing a lot from, he says he would welcome the attention if TCU got more involved with him.

"I'm hearing some from them" said Rogers regarding TCU. "I was at their camp last summer and I went to a game last fall and talked to them a couple of times but not a whole lot."

With TCU located in the metroplex, location could come into play for Rogers. While he says he would most likely want to stay in state to play, he says he's not limiting his options.

"I'm really just looking for a good school because the game can only take you so far an I need the education to get me the rest of the way" he said.

"While I'm playing, I want to win games and have fun doing it and as of right now, I don't want to go too far from home but that could change."

If the Frogs do get involved with Rogers, it's safe to say that the up and coming lineman would welcome the attention from the hometown school.

"If they started showing interest, I would definitely love to get down there this spring or this summer and check them out" he said. "If they offered, I would definitely be interested in them and do my homework on them and keep up with them. They would definitely have a chance."

With more and more schools coming after the young phenom, does he have a timeframe in mind to make a decision or will he just play it by ear?

"At this point, I don't really have a set date or anything but I would most likely like to have a decision made before my senior season starts" he said. "Obviously that could change but I would like to have it done by then."

Will TCU get involved with Rogers and extend an offer? It's still very early for a 2015 recruit, but Rogers sounds like he would like to hear from them soon.
