Many felt the Jasper product would commit, if offered, at the Texas junior day on February 23rd. Cuney, who also holds offers from TCU and Texas Tech, admits he thought about it briefly, but he still wants to get some looks at other programs before deciding.
"It was crazy to get that offer," he said. "At one point (during the visit) I thought it was the right place and everything, but I got to thinking I'm not ready to shut it down just yet."
TCU is one school that Cuney continues to get strong interest from since the Frogs offered last month. He spoke with his recruiter, Clay Jennings, a few days ago and although he doesn't have a set date on a visit, he knows he wants to make it down to Ft. Worth.
"Yes, I'm trying to get down there," he said. "I know that they want me to get down there as soon as possible."
Cuney doesn't have any other plans to get to a college campus soon. His schedule has been busy with track, but he does plan to hit some camps, including the Nike Camp at Valley Ranch on April 7th.
"Not really, right now I just have a lot of camps to get out to," he said.
Cuney is rated a three-star prospect and nation's No. 12 center prospect.
