"You know, it's going really good right now" said Lockhart. "Honestly, it came a lot faster than what I expected."
"I didn't really expect all of this until maybe my junior or senior year but I love it right now."
Currently holding an offer from Baylor, Lockhart says it's too early to name a leader but he says he already has a good feel for about ten programs. Is TCU one of those schools?
"TCU is a really nice school and they're actually in my top ten right now" he said. "The reason why I like them is because it's a Christian school and my grandfather is a Deacon at his church, and I'm a big believer in God."
"Another thing is it's really not that far from my home in Ennis; it's only like a 30-35 minute drive" said Lockhart. "I've actually visited before for a camp and I liked it because of the campus, it wasn't too big or anything."
Lockhart also mentioned the TCU coaching staff's intensity and said he too is an intense guy and thinks he would fit in well in Ft. Worth.
Lockhart admits it's a little early to narrow it down too far but says at this point, a select group of schools stand above the rest.
As far as his high school team is concerned, Lockhart is proud to have been a part of turning around a team that went 2-8 and 3-7 in the last two years to a team that went 8-3 in 2012. He says he and his teammates want to bring back Ennis' winning ways.
"8-3 in really good when you think about the way we came back from those bad records in only two to three years" he said. "I feel like my teammates and I are bringing back the tradition; our goal for next year is to go to the state championship game."
Although he holds just one offer at the moment, Lockhart knows that more are coming his way. Will TCU extend an offer? It's still very early but stay logged on to HornedFrogBlitz.com to get the latest on the fast rising lineman.
