TCU on Top for Houston Area Star

With 4 offers in hand, Galena Park North Shore's Najee Toran is a wanted man. Where will the 6'3" 258 pound center land? Get the latest here.

Galena Park North Shore is known for producing top flight football talent and in 2014, the tradition continues. caught up with Najee Toran and the 6'3" 260 pound center prospect says he's enjoying the process.

"The recruiting process is going good" said Toran. "I have four offers so far from TCU, Oregon State, Boise State and U of H (Houston)."

With four offers on the table for Toran, it's evident that the North Shore star is a highly sought after player. With a plan to graduate high school and enroll in college early, time is of the essence. With that in mind, what teams are standing out and why?

"TCU is on top right now" said Toran. "When I visited there, they had good academics and I already knew they were good in football so it just impressed me overall."

With offers out to Connor Mayes, Terrell Cuney and now Najee Toran, it's clear that TCU needs a center in the class of 2014. The question is, which player will jump on the offer first?

"I'd like to make my decision before the season because I'm graduating early" he said. "I want to have my decision out of the way because I want to be at the school that I choose in January."

With the Horned Frogs leading, what does Toran need to see before he makes his decision?

"I want to get back up there (TCU) before the summer or sometime during the summer" said the North Shore star. "Their football and their academics are the key; they graduate 91% of their players and it's a private school so you know it's a good education."

"They only have like 20 people in each class so it's small like high school and I can get very involved" he said. "I really like how it's a family there."

With Toran leaning toward TCU, it begs the question, who grabs the spot first? You have to think that TCU will hold a spot for Connor Mayes but will the Frogs take two center/guard types? The answer is likely yes but we'll keep an eye on the situation as it unfolds. Keep it here for the latest.
