Barrett Talks NFTC

Ty Barrett talked with HornedFrogBlitz.com after Sunday's NFTC in Allen, TX. The 6'5" 305 pound Barrett held his own all afternoon and says he liked having the chance to prove he could compete against the best.

One of the top prospects in attendance on Sunday was Dallas Skyline's Ty Barrett. The 6'5" 305 pound lineman was impressive during one on one drills and we caught up with him afterward to discuss his performance and to see how recruiting is going for the #23 OT in the country.

"It was a great camp, I mean there was a lot of great competition out here" said Barrett. "There were a lot of good kids, a lot of good attitudes, good coaches, everything was great."

As one of the top players in attendance, Barrett says the talent on hand Sunday allowed him to see how he stacks up against the best players in the country.

"It just shows you were you're at as a player" he said. "It really, really challenges you and with all of the great players out here, you really can't do any better than this."

When you're ranked as high nationally as Barrett is, you expect to get called out for a challenge during one on one drills. One player really stood out to the Skyline star as he battled the eventual defensive line MVP on multiple occasions.

"Solomon Thomas is a really good player" said Barrett. "He was tough all day long, he's a really, really good player."

"He was the best one that I saw out there."

On the recruiting front, Barrett is now up to 17 offers after adding a new offer on Saturday night. Who was the new school that jumped in to the mix and are there others that are close to offering?

"Kentucky offered me Saturday night" he said. "Michigan, LSU, and a bunch of other schools are showing me heavy interest and they may offer soon."

"I haven't made a top 5 or a top 10 yet but I'll narrow it down as soon as I feel comfortable."

So is TCU still in the mix?

"Oh yeah, they're up there" said Barrett. "I'm not going to name favorites but I really like them and I really liked it when I went up there for a visit."
