Other schools are showing Lundblade strong interest. Among those interested are Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas and Texas Tech and the rising target plans to attend camps for each program. Many stopped by his school during the spring evaluation.
The seventh offer could be right around the corner according to Lundblade. It would also be his first from a Big 12 program.
"I'm expecting Kansas will offer next week, my area coach, Coach Vestal said that both the offensive line coach and offensive coordinator want to offer me but Coach Weiss just has to see my film," Lundblade said. "He said next week they're going to sit down and Coach Weiss is going to view all the films for the kids they want to offer and all he has to do is sign off. Hopefully I'll get my first Big 12 offer and get things rolling."
As exciting the news was for Lundblade on Thursday when he received his offer from Louisiana-Monroe, a call from another program was equally exciting. The call came from TCU, a school Lundblade has hoped to hear from since his recruiting process started. It was a call that almost wasn't, since he didn't recognize the number and he was in the middle of studying for finals; therefore he didn't answer. Thankfully the caller, Dan Sharp, left a voicemail and Lundblade quickly called back.
"It was really exciting, I really wasn't expecting it," he said of hearing from TCU. "I actually didn't answer it because I didn't have the number saved and it was an 817 number. I hadn't heard from TCU at all so I wasn't expecting them to call me. I was studying for exams so I just figured I would check the message and call back later. My dad was sitting next to me when my phone rang and he said it could be TCU and I thought no way. When I got the voicemail it was Coach Sharp from TCU, it was exciting and I didn't expect it all. I called him back and we got to chat for about ten minutes."
What did the two talk about in those ten minutes?
"He said they wanted to see me at camp and see me snap," Lundblade said. "He said that if I could snap and do well at camp it would really help me get an offer. He said they're looking to sign four (offensive linemen) and they don't have any right now. Hopefully my chances there look pretty good."
Lundblade fully admits that he doesn't have a list of favorites at the moment. However, he says an offer from the Frogs would definitely put them among the top schools on his list.
"Definitely towards the top," he said of TCU. "I haven't really looked too far into any school to say I have a favorite. But, I'd say definitely at the top. Like I said, unfortunately I hadn't heard from them but now that I am, if they were to offer they would definitely be one of the top few."
