"My father and I were very impressed" said Allen. "With everything they have to offer, it's going to be hard to top TCU."
"My dad was overwhelmed by the whole thing" said Allen. "I hung out with Coach Cross, Coach Perry and Coach Patterson and I think TCU would be great for me as a player and as a person off the field; they will make me a better person overall."
While it sounds like he's already committed, Allen says he wants something to compare it to but he definitely thought about pulling the trigger while on campus.
"I thought about it, I mean, it definitely crossed my mind" he said. "My dad and I talked though and we decided I needed to have something to compare it to before I made my decision."
With a strong bond already forged with the coaching staff at TCU, Allen says another thing caught his attention while touring the campus.
"The facilities were very impressive" he said. "They're definitely in line with the top schools in the nation."
While Allen is unsure if he'll still make it to Kansas State for a visit, one more visit is going down for sure.
"I'm going to Texas Tech either this weekend or next weekend."
"They're going to have to really impress me though" he said. "I'm going to have to form a bond with them like I did with the TCU coaches and they're going to have to have facilities as nice as TCU's."
In one of my previous conversations with Allen, he mentioned Tech's 3-4 defense versus TCU's 4-2-5 and how it would affect his decision. After talking to Coach Patterson about it in detail, Allen now feels more comfortable with what TCU does on defense and how they would use him.
"Coach Patterson just told me that in the Big 12, it's such a pass happy conference that even though Tech runs a base 3-4 defense, they have to take one or two of their linebackers out in obvious passing situations" said the talented defender. "That makes sense to me now and I like how TCU would use me."
With a decision coming in the very near future and TCU very much in the thick of the race, keep it here for the latest.
