Since that time, the nation's No. 66 outside linebacker prospect is up to 13 offers on the table. Westerfield currently holds offers from Boise State, Colorado State, Duke, Fresno State, Navy, New Mexico, North Texas, Northwestern, SMU, Texas State, UTSA, ULM and Wake Forest.
TCU is another program that has shown Westerfield interest. The rising linebacker recently attended a TCU camp; working out at tight end and linebacker for the Frogs. He turned in an impressive performance on the day, running a 4.72 forty and an eye-opening 4.20 shuttle.
Westerfield felt that he opened the TCU coaches' eyes with his performance.
"It was great, they just kept saying to stay in it," he said of his TCU camp experience. "I slipped a few times on my shuttle and they were just telling me to stay with it."
With thirteen offers on the table, Westerfield says TCU has shown increased interest of late. He hopes TCU will be the next offer to add to his list.
"Coach Sharp invited me to camp because they wanted me out here," Westerfield said. "Hopefully I can add them to the list. He said they want to analyze everything and make sure if I'd play defensive end or outside linebacker. Maybe even tight end now."
Westerfield says there's plenty to like about TCU, from the facilities to program prestige.
"TCU is up and coming, actually they're already there," he said. "They won the Rose Bowl a few years ago. They have great facilities and it's close to home. It seems like it's the ideal place to go."
The TCU camp was the last camp stop of the summer for Westerfield. However, he plans to make a few unofficial visits starting next month.
"I'm done with camps, I'm going to Northwestern sometime in July and in late July I'm going up to Boise State to visit," Westerfield finished.
