On the table already for the 2015 prospect are offers from TCU, Texas and Texas Tech. Each program promptly offered him after impressive camp performances and they won't be the last to send an offer his way.
Several additional programs have started to show interest in the 6-foot-1, 185-pound playmaker.
Boyd attended a Frogs' satellite camp in Kilgore last month and mentioned to HornedFrogBlitz.com that he'd like to make a visit to Ft. Worth to check out the TCU facilities for the first time. Does he still plan to make that trip?
"Yes, if I can get away," he said. "Me and my uncle might be going to visit."
Although it's still very early in the process, Boyd says one team stands out to him at the moment.
"Texas is sticking out a little bit," he said. "I like them because I'm a DB and that's what they're known for. And it's a good school."
As for TCU, the Frogs were the first program to extend an offer to Boyd. While he lists Texas as his top school, he says the Frogs are still very much in it.
"I like the coaches for one thing. I also like how they communicate with the players," Boyd said. "I haven't gone down there to check out their facilities, but as a team I watched them when I was little and I liked them."
Boyd plans to attend one more camp at Baylor and make an unofficial visit to Texas A&M later this summer.
