TCU In the Mix For Jefferson

The TCU Honed Frogs are in the mix for Malik Jefferson. The catch is, in order to land his services, they'll have to beat out every elite program in the country to do so. The 6'3" 220 pound LB is a wanted man, and TCU is in hot pursuit.

One look at Malik Jefferson and you just know he's bound for greatness. The 6'3" 220 pound, freakishly athletic linebacker from Mesquite Poteet, spoke with tonight to give us the latest on his recruitment. As expected, offers have been coming in at a whirlwind pace.

"It's been going really well and everybody is on me right now" said Jefferson. "I don't know how to say it, and I'm trying to be as humble as possible, but everyone is high on me, it's not just a couple of schools."

With programs such as Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas and Texas A&M offering, the Mesquite native now has his offer count up to 16. Jefferson talked about the three most recent offers he's received.

"Florida State, Colorado and Utah are my newest offers" said Jefferson. "I'm just working on getting better at every part of the game and I know everybody works out, but I do extra to get ahead of the game."

With an impressive work ethic and blessed with immense natural ability, Jefferson is taking the recruiting game by storm. Having said that, he doesn't have much more to prove on the camp circuit.

"I'm not sure if I'm done for the summer yet, I might visit two more schools" he said. "I probably won't hit any camps but right now, I don't know anything for sure."

As far as TCU is concerned, Jefferson says he has a legitimate interest in the Frogs and plans on calling Coach Burns tomorrow to catch up with him.

"I haven't talked to them in a while but I need to call Coach Burns tomorrow" he said. "I'll give him a shout tomorrow when I have some free time but this week has been so busy so far."

Even though offers are pouring in for Jefferson, he says he's in no hurry to make a decision and says that no schools are currently distancing from the pack.
